Videos streamed to Chromecast device showing as "0.0b"

Post by kargeloet »

I'm using UMS to stream videos to my Android phone, to watch over DEOVR (Cardboard). Some files are showing as having a filesize of 0.0b, and will hang on loading if I try to play. After waiting five minutes or so, I'll hear audio, but nothing else happens. These same files will play just fine if I copy them directly to my phone. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to why which files do this, plus some show the correct filesize but no thumbnail, and will give me the error "Unsupported filetype" unless played from the phones internal drive.

This may be a problem with DEOVR itself, but I can't find any other Cardboard video player that supports streaming from UMS.
