Universal media server does not read srt. file

I have been having problems with the universal media server for a long time. Earlier versions were ok but the latter are problematic.
I have a Philips TV 55PUS7304 / 12 and when I install the universal media server Version 10.0.0 I see the file but it doesn't give me the option to select subtitles even though they are in the same folder.
