Hi

Just bought the telly mentioned in topic. When I try watch any movie with subtitles all I get is very garbled picture. With tv doing the encoding for file+subs I could understand it as DLNA doesn't support subtitles, but why it happens when transcoding also.. have I missed some setting that needs to be on or off?

As a sidenote, the movie works on TV when using 'Transcode/No Encoding', and of course no problems what so ever when using PS3.

Back to this old topic. Still even when using UMS 4.4 a lot of files with external subtitles will not play, it results no sound and garbled picture. The television is recognizes as "Bravia W". It might have to do something with DTS audio, I begin to notice a pattern there.

The same files work on Playstation 3 and Sony BDP-S4200 bluray player.

Unfortunately the picture is still garbled and no sound with this version as well, as can be seen from http://thehooligan.fi/temp/2015-01-12-244.jpg

(I tried with two different mkvs, same result. Both work on PS3 and BDP-S4200 bd player)
