Remove Folders in 'New Media' Folder

So this is actually the same as my post in the Support board (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1300&start=10#p9049), but I felt it probably fits in better as a Feature Request so...
I have "Hide Empty Folders" ticked, but in the New Media folder I still see all the folders, even though most of them are empty, which makes it very hard to actually find the new media. This is what I see:
If the 'Hide Empty Folders' option worked in the 'New Media' folder, then I would expect to see:
What would be awesome is if I could remove the folders, but only in the New Media folder, as only 1 or 2 new files get added a day, and I usually watch them both that day.
For example, this is what I would like to see when browsing:
