How to add live stream channels to UMS?

I just installed UMS on my Win7 machine it works fine: I can start videos on my Roku from a shared folder. I would also like to be able to watch streaming video on Roku via UMS. It looks like it is possible but very difficult to figure out how. I found numerous discussions on 'web.conf' modification, but all of them are between people who are familiar with a lot of details that I don't know about.
Is there any simple step-by-step manual showing how to set up a sample web streamed channel? Or maybe a collection of ready to use *.conf files?
