Hello. Just discovered UMS and would like to try it. Can anyone suggest minimum hardware requirements for the box I'll be installing UMS? (I couldn't find a list on this site.) I'll be using a Linux distro.
Thanks!

I think a Intel i3 or i5 processor (or AMD equivalent) with 4-8gb of RAM with a decent hard drive would suffice. I would personally go with and i5 with 8GB of ram to give you some room for any future needs.

Thank you Optimus_Prime, I appreciate it. I've got some spare hardware laying around that fits that so I'm set.

Seriously?
Back when it was totally free, I ran tversity perfectly fine transcoding to FullHD while playing borderlands on an old AMD 64x2 with 3GB RAM.
How can UMS need an i5 with 8GB?

I can get UMS to work on a Raspberry Pi 700Mhz Processor with 512 MB Ram.

I'm with iamtk421 on this... First time with UMS, but running very nicely on a Pentium D 830 with 2GB of RAM and an HD6450. Prior to this was running PMS on a ten year-old P4 w/ 1gig of RAM. System requirements are low up until you try transcoding 1080p. Just my experience so far.
