Content cannot be played since some time

Hi,
Since some time I get the error on my PS3: "This content cannot be played (800288E1)". I do remember installing UMS with 'clean settings' and have been having this issue ever since.
I already tried downgrading UMS to version 3.2, 3.1 and even 3, but no difference. I tried updating Java today, and even tried PS3 Media Server, but they both gave me the same issues.
This issue is already causing me problems since 2013. Weirdly enough, once I disable subtitles everything works fine.
Can someone please help me get some insight in this situation, and have a working UMS again (with subtitles)?
