Ubuntu + Xbox360: Can't get MKV files to seek

Hi,
My setup is Ubuntu 13.10, UMS 3.4 (came from PS3MediaServer). My TV is an LG, and I use XBox 360 to access.
Everything works great, except MKV files. They play, and mostly they play fine, but I can't fast-forward, or skip to next section of movie.
Other files - mp4, avi, etc allow fast forwarding and skipping - but I notice that they are not Transcoding/muxing - no encoding. Works fine, even for large movies.
If anyone has any idea, that would be great. I'm sure its something basic I'm missing. I searched the forums, didn't see a fix, but I did try everything I could find.
Is it possible to have MKV play without transcoding/muxing? I'm guessing not, from what I read (but I could be out of date)
If not, is it possible to get seek/skip etc working this way? I get the following message in my trace:
mkv xbox Not muxing the video stream with tsMuxeR via MEncoder because the renderer does not support H.264 inside MPEG-TS
Thanks, I attached a logfile with trace that show whats happening. I really appreciate anyone taking the time to look.
