Not all internal subtitles shown in #TRANSCODE folder

Post by ameisenmann »

Hello,
I currently updated from my old version 9.6.2 to 14.4.0.

Usually I could see all embedded internal subtitles in the #TRANSCODE folder. In the new version however only the first subtitle ist shown. In most cases this is english.

I searched for threads with the same problem and tried to tweak with subtitle settings. Nothing helped so far.
Also I read about the renderer setting "StreamSubsForTranscodedVideo". But neither value "true" not "false" had any effect on what was shown in the #TRANSCODE folder.

Here are my transcoding settings.

In VLC there are for sure many embedded subtitles visible.

But I cannot make them visible in the #TRANSCODE folder.
I would appreciate any help here.

Update:

I tested version 9.6.2 again and in default config all the internal subtitles are shown in the #TRANSCODE folder.

I could not recognize any difference in the configuration compared to 14.4.0 config after fresh re-install. But of course I do not know all parameters.

Nevertheless it seems to me that there is no way to make all the internal subtitles visible in #TRANSCODE folder for the version 14.4.0.

For now I will use version 9.6.2 as it works well for me.

I noticed something like this while I was tracking down another transcoding problem but just thought UMS was filtering out and languages that are not set in the subtitles or audio settings as the total number of options is overwhelming for videos with a lot of subs.

I just checked between one of the videos I was having problems with and one that was working I saw the working one showed them all but the problem one only showed the first sub.
Also that one had forced subtitles which I think was the only difference between them.

This appears to be the same thing and UMS is not looking at any other subtitle tracks.

Code: Select all

Adding RIPLEY.S01E01.1080p.WEB.H264-NHTFS.mkv: audio: Audio Id: 0, Language Code: eng, Codec: Enhanced AC-3, Stream Order: 1, Bitrate: 768000, Channels: 6, Sample Frequency: 48000 Hz, subtitle: Id: 0, Embedded, Default, Forced, title: English [Forced], lang: eng, type: SUBRIP, engine: FFmpeg Video (MPEGPS-MPEG2-AC3)
Adding RIPLEY.S01E01.1080p.WEB.H264-NHTFS.mkv: audio: Audio Id: 0, Language Code: eng, Codec: Enhanced AC-3, Stream Order: 1, Bitrate: 768000, Channels: 6, Sample Frequency: 48000 Hz, subtitle: Id: 0, Embedded, Default, Forced, title: English [Forced], lang: eng, type: SUBRIP, engine: MEncoder Video (MPEGPS-MPEG2-AC3)
Adding RIPLEY.S01E01.1080p.WEB.H264-NHTFS.mkv: audio: Audio Id: 0, Language Code: eng, Codec: Enhanced AC-3, Stream Order: 1, Bitrate: 768000, Channels: 6, Sample Frequency: 48000 Hz, subtitle: Id: 0, Embedded, Default, Forced, title: English [Forced], lang: eng, type: SUBRIP, engine: VLC Video (MPEGPS-MPEG2-AC3)
I don't know what is going on but it is a clue that there is something wrong when there are forced subtitles in a video for foreign language parts.
I'll add a link to this post on Github under the previous issue I made.

Thank you for your input.

I had also the idea that the new version added some kind of filtering for selection of subtitles in the #TRANSCODE folder.
But since nothing that I tried could extend this selection there must be something wrong.
If you need additional information or testing from me just let me know.
