UMS 14.11.0 - how do I use wifi connection?

I've been using UMS for several years via ethernet connections with no problems. I access my media files using android boxes running BubbleUPNP which finds UMS no problem. I'm looking at moving my desktop computer (which has all the media files on it) to another room which does not have ethernet, so have bought myself a wireless card. Problem is, I can't figure out how to get BubbleUPNP to find UMS via wireless. I even tried accessing my network via wireless instead of ethernet on the android box, but no go. I also tried on UMS to "Force networking on interface" and assigned it to the wireless card in my desktop, but that didn't work either. Can someone point me in the right direction for getting this to work? Please keep it simple as I'm not that tech-savvy with network lingo. Thanks!

If your computer is connected to a wireless network then it will use that.
If you have both wired and wireless connected then this is when you might need to force one or the other.
The important thing is to make sure the computer and your devices are on the same subnet for them to be discovered. ie all devices will have the IP starting 192.168.1.xxx for example.
As you say the android box can't connect over wireless then the problem is most likely with your router settings.
Check that UPnP is enabled as this is used to discover devices and may be turned off for wifi.
It could be something else that is causing UMS to not appear but will need logs to be sure. See the section in red above.

Thanks for your reply. I have been busy the last few days and will try and get to this to try it out and post my results. My concern is trying to find out the IP addresses of my desktop and the android device. I can see my desktop on the router, but I have no idea which device is the android box, so that will take some investigating. I am assuming though that as every device I have in the house is connected thru the router, they should all be on the same subnet. When you say to check if UPnP is enabled, do you mean on the router?

For your desktop (assuming windows):
From the "run" box at the start button type:
cmd
then press enter.
In the prompt window that comes up, type:
ipconfig
then press enter.
The information shown:
IPv4 Address: is your desktop IP
Default Gateway: is your routers IP
Different Android devices are a bit different but the basics are:
Settings
Connections
(then tap on the wifi connection you are using)
(then that should have a small icon which looks like a cog)
(tap on that)
(then you should have something which says "View more" - tap on that)
Then that will show a screen of information including the Android devices IP address.
