Playstation 3, UMS and Cinavia?

Post by CappySpectrum »

I'm curious for those that use the Playstation 3 with Universal Media Server, how are you viewing your ripped Blu-Ray's? As when I start viewing my *.mkv's on the Playstation 3, usually within 5 minutes Cinavia kicks in. No sound.

I don't have these issues playing them through the TV's streaming facility or the dedicated Blu-Ray player. I'm just wondering how people get past this with their Playstation 3 movie watching. Changing discs can be annoying through the night, click click, clunk clunk and so on…

That is "playstation by design..." and we are not in the business of by passing Cinavia :)

Also when i Rip Blu-rays i don't download them from the internet (PROTIP -- buy good ripping software) -- i rip them my self from my own collection

So i cant tell you to just to try enabling 'Encoded Audio passthrough' under Transcoding Settings Tab, but this only works if you have a DTS capable audio receiver. It worked for me...

hint hint hint
