3.6.0: Logs "flooded" with 'Starting playing <file name>...'

Post by Y3Q4QJHBj »

3.6.0: Logs "flooded" with 'Starting playing <file name> on your AirPlayer' and followed by 'Stopped playing <file name> on your AirPlayer'

Also making numerous entries as a result in "Recently Played"

Design intent? Bug? Known artefact of AirPlayer's request technique?

Admins/Mods please feel free to move this msg to appropriate area. This msg could have qualified for many areas.

I don-t know if this may be exactly the case, but some renderers "fake play" a second or two of each file to get a local thumbnail and media info.

It's not generating thumbnails, it's during file playback.

It happens only when playing a file and throughout playing that file. It might look something like this

22:40.06 Started playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:40:23 Stopped playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:40.49 Started playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:41:04 Stopped playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:41:25 Started playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:41:40 Stopped playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:41:59 Started playing ... on your AirPlayer
22:42:14 Stopped playing ... on your AirPlayer

And so on...

I ask if others are seeing this and if it is Design intent? Bug? Known artefact of AirPlayer's request technique?

Did you try any other renderer on the same network? (ie using an smartphone or tablet with a different DLNA player)
