Hi all, I want to see if anyone can help me. I've been using UMS over a year now. I think that in the last 6 months I started having some issues of performance with some scenes on all movies. The scenes are specially the ones that are located on forests or places that has lots of green details. The issue is that the movie start skipping frames and after the "green" goes by the audio and movie are not synced.

I'm using windows 7 64 i7 16gb , the version of UMS I am using is 3.6.2 but this happened with older version too. I'm over a 100mb network, but as I have said it works perfectly in almost all situations.. except in greens. I've tried menconder, ffmpeg.

Someone had a similar issue? how did you solve it?

You could try and limit the bandwidth. Scenes with big "swoops" (like the HBO opener) tend to get some stuttering.

I've reduced the bandwidth and it seems everything run smoothly. I've check the peak bandwidth on the moment of the stuttering and put that as a cap.

The only big question I have is why on some sections of the movie the bitrate is just 4mb and on some other it scales up to 53... for instance pacific rim SBS, just take 6mb/s average.

I don't know why the peak gets so high from time to time. If it works all should be well. A little tip though look into the log and take the estimated bitrate of the render from there and use as your max (if it looks ok and doesn't say 1024 or some other high value).
Look for entries like:

Address /192.168.100.10 has an estimated network speed of: 23 Mb/s

2nd tip.
Add

MaxVideoBitrateMbps=xx

to the renders .conf file to make it render specific.
(replace xx with the bandwidth in Mbps)
