Twitch and Universal Media server [I kinda really need help]

Hey there, I have some problems with getting twitch run on my universal media server. I mainly want to be able to livestream my own gameplay to the TV in the living room. I tried using PS Media server before (seems like it is made by you guys as well) and it didn't work with my stream. It basically gave me the 800288E1 Content can not be played error when i tried opening my stream. all the other streams (shanghai harbour, ted and so on) worked fine without any kind of problem. I tinkered around with ps media server and tried the twitch/owned fix that i had to google about 1 hour to find and then figured i might as well install universal media server and uninstall pms. After doing so i followed the instructions again, put the groovy file to where i thought it belongs, the web.conf into the right folder and installed jumpy. now none of the streams work, giving me various 800288 error variants of the content can not be played. Playing anything else from the pc and streaming it to the playstation works flawlessly.

I have to add that i find the tutorials for adding twitch support to UMS and PMS not very helpful. First of all the resources are scattered all over the place with around 25% on the pms forums,50 % in the ums forums and another 25% in the comment section of their respective threads. Ergo, this means there is no real tutorial for this and i see a need there considering that i cant get it to work. Now i could just use serviioo or whatever its called as i already got it working, but i dont like the interface and its functionality beyond the twitch support is trivial and not worth the space it uses up on my harddrive.

I dont even need twitch support, i need to be able to stream game footage either directly from my computer or from twitch to a tv screen or my playstation without spending any more money. And as far as i understand UMS is capable of doing so through a ps3. So i would be glad for any kind of help, really. Thank you in advance

P.S.: I did not attach the log files due to the fact that im basically asking for a step by step guide for this rather than assistance in fixing my probably already screwed up installation. i will, if provided with a proper and user friendly tutorial, make a new fresh install of UMS and follow said guide.

i'd be interested to adding twitch to ums too.

reading your post above, it seems complicated.

is there a ready made plugin or template for twitch or as last resort a tutorial?

Just use the program called livestreamer https://github.com/chrippa/livestreamer
Livestreamer is a command-line utility that pipes video streams from various services into a video player, such as VLC.
The main purpose of Livestreamer is to allow the user to avoid buggy and CPU heavy flash plugins
but still be able to enjoy various streamed content.
There is also an API available for developers who want access to the video stream data.
  • supports:
    Dailymotion
    Livestream
    Twitch
    UStream
    YouTube Live
So these would all work on UMS then too
