[Solved] subs showing in my own lang

how do i make it so sub do not show up in my native lang. english?

By default they won't show up if the file is using the correct language tags, but problems happen when the file author doesn't set any language tag in the file. By default, UMS will use the logic "if the audio language is not specified as English, and there are either undefined or English subtitles, display them".
You can change this preference on the "Subtitle Settings" subtab in the "Transcoding Settings" tab, or you can select languages on your device by using the #--TRANSCODE--# folder

thanks for the reply. so you are saying i should just take the eng out of the 'forced language' field and all should be good? i cant set this on my device.

I was more thinking the "Audio/subtitle language priority" part. That says "if audio is English, subtitles should be off. If audio is anything else, try to load English subtitles. If there still isn't a match, try to load subtitles with undefined language"

so should i set the second argument to 'off' so that i dont get english subs on an english video because the video file isnt properly set to english?

ok thanks! ill give that a try. would you know of an app that i could use to go set my english videos that are not set to english correctly? that way i can get the functioning properly. i think i only have one movie that isnt entirely in english.

MKVToolnix has a program called MKVMerge which is a great and easy program for that. You just drop your file in and you can select which tracks in the file you want, and set things like language.
