Double Subtitles Displayed Using Live Subtitles

I am running UMS 4.1.3 and I have double subtitles when relying only on Live Subtitles feature. I view English language video files and I use English subtitles due to hearing loss. My Smart TV is the Samsung UN55C6500. The proper conf file is being picked up. When using .srt subtitles which I download manually I get only one English subtitle. But doing Live subtitles alone gives me double English subtitles. No .srt files are present so that the system could pick them up. This happens whether I tick "Defer to MEncoder when transcoding subtitles" inside FFMPEG, or not. I would like to use live subtitles only so I don't have to download manually, that's the point of live subtitles, yes? I really want this feature to work for me. This is driving me mad. Please help, logfiles attached. Thanks.
