3D subtitle support in 4.2.0

As I understand, 4.2.0 should have support for 3D subtitles. I have some problems with the feature: mainly in that I can't get it to work.
I tried checking FAQs and searching the forum (forum says 3d and subtitles are too common words *grin*), and fiddling with the transcoder settings, but I can't get them the show up.
Note that I'm trying to use them with Live Subtitles. Maybe I should check if they work with subtitles that are already manually downloaded... Anyhow, Live Subtitles in general work well, only when UMS detects (well, I can't be sure if it detects anything, to be honest, but in normal files - subtitles show up, in 3D - subtitles are missing) 3D, do they not work. I checked the logs with Trace, and didn't see anything regarding subtitles when playing a 3D file, although it doesn't say anything about subtitles when they work in 2D stuff as well.
Any ideas? Is there a button I need to click to enable 3D subtitles? Some configuration settings that need to be set before they work properly? Anything?
BTW. I did a "clean" install, in that I let the installer clear the cache and settings, to make sure it wasn't that. Didn't help.
