[Solved] Streaming over the web

Posted: Thu Jan 22, 2015 6:16 am
Hi guys,

I'm having issues streaming video over the internet with AirPlayer on my tablet/mobile. This issue has come about since I updateD to 4.1 but now this looks to be coincidence as I downgraded and still have the issue. My upload from my server is around 6Mb and normally anything around that with download speed on my remote device would allow me to watch videos remotely with no issue. The issue is no matter how I set the transcoding quality or which video engine I use I get stuttering on all video streams. Also If use Windows Media Player to stream the same video from my server to my laptop remotely over the web on the same Internet connection, WMP will downgrade the quality of the HD video and give me what it can so I can at least watch it but at a lower resolution, is this something that UMS can do?

Cheers

Kev

Hi guys,

Done a bit of playing and I've found that with Mencoder I can force the video resolution and doing so to a lower res fixes any video stuttering, the issue I now see is that it will downgrade to devices I have cabled in at home and are capable of doing 1080p. Is there a way I can force just AirPalyer to do lower resolutions in a confit file?

Cheers

Kev

Sorry for boring you with my questions above, I have stopped being a pillows and had a proper look at it and it's now working exactly how I need it to. Full HD over the Lan and lower res to AirPlayer which now as little as 1.5Mb I'm getting a pretty decent res and quality video stream
