Vorbis and FLAC audio playback issue

Hello,
I have a Samsung Smart TV (UE46ES6800) which doesn't want to play video files with Vorbis or FLAC audio.
It won't play them natively (I've tried with the files on a USB key) but I thought maybe UMS would transcode on-the-fly.
Should it? Could really do with some help to configure this.
I'm quite new to this so please be gentle with me.
