Play FLAC without transcoding. Only plays one track at a time.

I have a Samsung UA60H6300 60 that natively supports flac from USB. I installed Universal Media Server today and my tv found it straight away. Yay!

I want to direct play (stream without transcoding) my flac files on my pc using UMS to my TV (Did I say that right?).

It appears to be playing my flac files from my shared folders. Is it transcoding the file or not? IF it is, is there a setting change I can make so the file is not transcoded.

Also, I can only seem to play one track. The next track in the list has to be selected and played manually. How do I fix this?

*Update*

Ok so I just noticed that as a track that is playing comes to an end, like in the last 2 seconds, a message appears that says "Check Network Connection" and then UMS on my TV takes me back to the music directory.

And another problem I am having is that when I try to use the UMS web interface to browse my files my files on my PC I get a blank page with the error message: "No data received".

Perhaps all these items are related?

Best,
Dameon

I restarted UMS, selected "Trace" in the logs and reproduced the error. I've attached the zip to the opening post. Hope someone can help with this. IT's really annoying to have playback stop after one track.

I am a bit concerned / confused about the same thing. How do I make sure my FLAC files are transfered without any transcoding? Should I disable the "Audio Files Engines" to make sure nothing is altered? Probably nothing to worry about, I just keep thinking about it. What are the right settings in the "Transcoding Settings" ==> "General Settings" ==> "Audio Settings" to prevent any transcoding on audio files???

dameonjamie the problem that UMS is transcoding FLAC files is in the renderer setting. UMS recognized your TV and used the Samsung-NotCD.conf where is set

Code: Select all

StreamExtensions = mkv,mp3,mp4,avi,mov
You can try to add flac to StreamExtensions and check if it works. Faster way how to check if your TV supports this format over DLNA is to go to the TRANSCODE folder and try to play the [NO ENCODE] option of the file.
