Sony Bravia KDL 46EX720 "sees" UMS but cannot access it.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL 46EX720 that sees the UMS but I can't access it.
I had a previous version of the UMS that set up perfectly, but this version (5.1.2) does not. The Bravia shows in the general config window, and in the media servers on the Sony, but is inaccessible.
Everything appears to be right, in that the UMS shows as connected in the computer, with the server running but I don't seem to be able to stream from the server. Is there something I am overlooking?
BTW, I have the same problem on a laptop that also has UMS, but with a different ID to keep them separate. I get the feeling that I am not configuring the UMS properly.
