Well, a repost;
Went through the hassle to replace my XP/32 with Win7/64.
now, with 4gb reserved for UMS, finding that when UMS reaches the letter B, it uses 2.4 GB's of Ram,

So, again not a programmer myself at all, but it looks like an unsolvable situation having any larger amount of music files through UMS.
By the letter Z, I better have something like 32GB or more to unvoid UMS crashing.

Wonder if there's some memory leak or something coming into play.

Came home after letting UMS run for some hours without crashing with the out of java memory error.
But, it also looked as if the "checking files" process died off somewhere mid-alphabet, so started a "scan all shares"

This meant that existing usage ( 5,4 GB ram ) was the starting point and UMS kept chewing more upwards from that.

Is there any specified limits in regards to number of files ? amont of memory that can be used ?

Running UMS 5.1.4, Win7/64bit / java 8 - 64bit.
