On while pc turned off

Is there a way where I can still connect this even if my pc is turned off cause my daughter keeps bugging me while im at work if she can turn on the pc. Thanks

What would the ps3 connect to in order to access the media data if the PC was turned off? You could install UMS as a service to be loaded 'at startup' with the PC network NIC being set to ''Allow this device to wake the computer'. Ideally the PS3 should then trigger the PC startup. Alternatively use the shareware 'Lights Out' to initiate the PC startup and shutdown on a schedule. Third option would be to configure the media on a upnp enabled NAS attached to the router.
