Hi there is a Samsung smart TV in my list of renderers and i do not own one. Does this mean someone hacked my internet? What is the range on this program? Does the devices that show up as media renderers have to be connected to my network?

UMS only finds renderers on the local subnet, so yes devices have to be connected to your local network and even your local IP subnet. That said, UMS can sometimes recognize renderers wrong, so what you see might actually be another device. If you click on the device on the "Status" tab, you can find more information about the device.
