MIDI file type

Post by Uncialist »

I have shared My Music folder on my PC and then checked its operation by entering the IP address and port number 9001. It then displays all the folders in My Music. When I select a specific folder it displays ALL the files in that folder EXCEPT the one MIDI file. I was led to understand that UMS caters for MIDI files. If I go to that folder on my PC and select PEANUTS.MID, it opens Windows Media Player and plays that file from start to end.

Why does it not show up in the Firefox list?

Is there something I must do to enable MIDI files?

Thanks for your help as I do have other MIDI files too.

UMS doesn't support MIDI files, I doubt there is any renderer out there that can play MIDI files. MIDI files aren't audio files, they are just instructions on how a MIDI capable device should generate audio. In short, forget about MIDI over DLNA.
