Streaming files from FTP

Hey,
I was wondering if there is anyway to add a external network to UMS.

I have a server which stores all my video files and I can access it via ftp or http, but UMS doesn't seem to like it being pointed to a ftp network location and I can't find any information online on configuring this.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a file "WEB.conf" where you can configure access to external resources. I don't know the configuration of that file very well, but there is some help in the file itself and you can find further info by searching this forum.

I thought that was for streams of video/audio/images ect not FTP access?

It takes URLs, so I'd give it a try. As stated above I don't know much about it though, but I'd think it shouldn't matter much is the URL was http or ftp.

I am in the same boat, i.e. trying to stream an external file (from zbigz.com). Is there a way to do it without setting up a rss feed (as I doubt zbigz supports it)?
