UMS 2.5.0 Scan error
Posted: Tue Mar 05, 2013 5:36 pm
Windows 7 (x64)
UMS 2.5.0
So I did a clean install of UMS 2.5.0 and added a folder to the shares.
I hit the scan button and was warned it may take a long time.
I agreed and it began scanning the whole computer!
I've noticed this issue before with previous versions.
After adding a folder to the shares, I take extra precautions to "save" and then close the program (so settings are saved).
I highlight the shared folder and hit scan, for fear of it scanning everything rather than the listed folders in the share list.
Should I hit the "save" button after making any changes so they stick?
It seems settings are not effective immediately until saved or the program is restarted.
I don't do changes to the program settings while it is streaming.
EDIT:
Settings: cache enabled
Also, when I add one file to the actual shared folders and rescan the shared folders with UMS, it takes a long time.
If I do a very cautious and clean scan of the shared folders, it doesn't take long at all.
Right now, there's only 3 files in the shared folders (including the one I just added).
Cancelling fails to actually cancel and the program becomes unresponsive.
The interface can be moved around but nothing can be clicked or closed.
A hard kill of the process through the task manager is the only solution.
But then when I have to do that, I sometimes have issues rebuilding the cache/rescanning the folders with even the most cautious steps taken.
I'm so scared right now.
