Hi ,
first of all thanks a lot for this product and providing support. I am a fan of this product. I am using this since last 6 months. I some times want to see subtitles on my Samsung smart TV.
This is easily possible with UMS.
Recently I brought yamaha B DA 1020 blu ray. I notice that when I use my blu ray player to watch movies stored on my PC, the subs are not enabled. I tried renaming the SRT file the same as the movie file, but still it does not help.
Can you please tell my what am i missing here? Your help is appreciated a lot. Thanks a lot for your support in advance.
Regards
Sharma

I think there's some buggyness going on...i also think SubJunk is aware of this..
I have WDTVLive, and i UMS priorities the embedded subitles over the external SRT

However, you SHOULD be able to go in #-transcode-# folder and select the option called [Mencoder/SubRip]

Hi,
thanks for the inputs.
when i selected this option i had to wait for 5 mits( I think that Yamaha has a delay in reponse/or my PC is wired via LAN hence the delay) and the reply is format not supported.

Can you guide me, what worng am doing here.

Thanks again.

Sharma

Sounds like the transcoding fails for some reason.
Sorry i can't help more than that..
The best chance you have to get help is to attach your logs.
Then hopefully some of the developers can solve it.

anjjusista,
Why not run UMS through your Samsung Smart TV and not your Amp

Hi,
Yeah I used to do that until I brought my Yamaha blu ray. I see big difference in the movies in terms of colors and sound when I see with Yamaha. So wanted to use subs in Yamaha.

If nothing help's I will have to go back to my Samart TV for subs.

I am still seeing help.

Regards
Sharma

Sorry to be a little ignorant (and i didn't pick up on this earlier) but are you using your yamaha RX-V671 Reciever/Amp to connect to UMS or your BD-A1020 Yamaha Blu-Ray player. As far as i can see your Amp can't play video from UMS only audio seeing as this is the out of the .conf (for the RX-V671)

Code: Select all

Video=false
Audio=true
Image=false
SeekByTime=true
TranscodeAudioTo441kHz = false
StreamExtensions = wav, flac, mp3, wma, aac
So with the correct settings in a .conf it may fix some of your issues.
