Universal Media Server | Forum

So, it updated ( UMS ) 2 days ago , i've been using it just fine for the last couple months, with no issues .

as soon as it updated , it will not play the files from pc -ps4 , it sees them .

but when i click on it , it either hangs and does nothing or locks up the media server program on the ps4 . only thing that changed was this update . nothing was added or removed .

I un installed UMS, and did a full fresh install of it, thinking this might be the issue . nothing changed .

so, i start UMS , log into PS4 . start media server, see the icon for UMS . click that , open it up, and i can see all my files from music , video , etc.

but when i click on anything it just hangs and locks up .

any help would be greatly appreciated , also ... im beyond a noob at PC / type stuff, i can barely work email, so please keep the tech advice down to a moron level for me please , lol .

Running win xp , im hard wired into a comcast router .

like i said, everything has been flawless until this last update , so thinking small bug, or some new setting i am missing .

I'm on 64-bit Win 7 running 64-bit Java 8u91 with UMS 6.3.0 and a PS4 with 3.50, and it works fine for me. I can transcode subs and play native mp4s. Maybe it's got something to do with XP?

nope, xp ran it just fine .

ps4 hasnt updated

only thing that changed was UMS , as soon as it updated itself. it all went bad

Without following rules written in red above we can't help you. I am starting to be tired writing again and again what users should do to obtain the help. Users please read that and follow that !!!. @SubJung can you make the Forum rules font bigger to give them much more attention? And implement it to all forum subfolders?

I've increased the size of the text now by 20%, do you think it should be bigger? If I put it in other categories on the forum I'll have to change the text because the purpose of those forums is not for reporting problems - in that case the user is in the wrong section.
