This problem continues in 3.0.0 alfa. The files are fine, other media server like Serviio can play play them.
Please help.

A quick googling seems to tie the issues to the installation of some other component using MediaInfo libraries. Did you install any other media related app recently?

I was having problem with one .avi file being hidden for the badly parsed thing.

My solution was to test other mediainfo.dlls, first v0.7.63, since 3.0.0 a1 still uses v0.7.62. but it was hiding the avi file. so I went and better checked old versions and I ended up in v0.7.60. and that mediainfo reads the avi and with no problem. I also tested the 200 folders to see if a video was hidden but log said everything was fine, so that mediainfo works for me.

the weird thing is I tested the same files in 64bits windows. and 0.7.62 in 64 bits didn't have a problem showing the file. so I don't know what happened to mediainfo but now everything works fine with 0.7.60 in this computer. so you could test other mediainfo versions to see if there is one that doesn't hide your files. well im not sure if you have tried that! but it might work if you haven't.

I have PMS, UMS, Serviio, VLC and MediaInfo installed on my computer. I installed Serviio and MediaInfo after the problem started. Before PMS and UMS was able list and play these files, I don't know which version was the last one succesfully i played these files.

I have found the mediainfo.dll under the UMS floder, it was 7.62 version. I changed it with 7.63 and 7.60 but the result is the same. :(

hmm you could also keep testing older versions.
but you could also set mediainfo to false in ums.conf and see if it has some playback problem or something like the ps3.conf file says

"This will give UMS more accurate information, speed up browsing and prevent potential playback errors. It also enables the use of "Supported" to more accurately define the supported formats for the renderer." but I tested it without it (before finding a mediainfo that worked with my avi) and it seemed to play files good.
its not like without mediainfo you wont be able to use UMS, it just to help more to avoid playback issues.
and serviio doesn't use mediainfo so that's one reason for it to play the same files UMS hides. well im not saying the files wouldn't work if serviio used mediainfo but it seems mediainfo doesn't like your files and it detects something weird. maybe you will never have playback issues not using mediainfo! so you could test it.
what OS do you use btw? did you replace the right mediainfo.dll? (well if you are in windows like im assuming) remember if you are in 64 bits you have to replace mediainfo64.dll not the 32 bit one, so you have to download 64 bit version and change it to mediainfo64.dll. just like a reminder since simple mistakes can happen.

I have tried mediainfo.dll till 7.14 version both 32 and 64 bit but all has the same problem.

The curious thing is i have also tried the dlls with mediainfo.exe with the same avi files and no problem occurred.

I have tried writing "mediainfo = false" in the config file but nothing changed, but i'm not sure i did it correctly. :)

My Os is Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate edition with SP1. Renderer is PS3.
