i am running OSX 10.6.8 on a 2009 black 12" (i think) macbook 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo, 4 GB 677 MHz DDR2 SDRAM with java 1.6.0_43 using a ps3 and a DTS receiver

with UMS 2.4.0 everything is fine

with any version after 2.4.0 UMS won't even generate thumbnails... when i try to send a 720p mkv to my ps3/receiver UMS 2.4.2 and later it gives errors like no input stream and on the ps3 i see cannot play media errors (black screen with white lines)

when i revert back to UMS 2.4.0 it has no problem generating thumbnails and i can play files just fine. i can even play files w/ Mencoder disabled if i move tsMuxeR to the top of the list...

if i update to java 1.6.0_45 will i lose the ability to use UMS 2.4.0 ??

i would like to be able to use the newest versions but if i have to i will stick with UMS 2.4.0 (version 2.4.0 is much better than no version heh)

If you update to java 1.6.0_45 you will lose the ability to use 2.4.0 but i see no reason to use any of the newest versions with java 1.6.0_43 as that's what i'm using and i build all the recent releases that you guy's download. Have you given 2.6.2 a
go? if so if you see any errors can you post logs?

so you are saying that UMS 2.6.2 SHOULD work on my setup... (OS X 10.6.8 java 1.6.0_43) and the HW that i put on my last post??

and you are ALSO saying if i upgrade my java to 1.6.0_45 that UMS 2.4.0 WILL stop working?

PS i will put 2.6.2 in later today (on OSX 10.6.8 java 1.6.0_43) and try to run a few movies to my ps3/dts receiver and i will post the logs...

Ok i will clarify, Java 1.6.0_43 WILL work with all versions of UMS
Java 1.6.0_45 will ONLY work with 2.6.2 of UMS and above (unless someone really needs a earlier version, then i can rebuild a new version with the required changes but only for good reasons)

OK so that is good to know. If ALL versions SHOULD work on java 1.6.0_43 then i will try 2.6.2 later today and post my errors. I can even link you to the media that fails if need be. Thanks for clarifying that.

You can pm me the link to the files if you want, then i can check not only my windows machine but the mac as well. But post the log's so at least i can check between mine and your versions

OK thanks I appreciate that. I didn't have any time last night but I should have time tonight if not I will MAKE time this weekend to do some testing w/ UMS 2.6.2 and I will be sure to post the logs and if needed link you to the media.

OK i just installed UMS 2.6.2 and tried three movies and they all got errors... i copied the logs and pasted them onto a "PM" and tried to send it... it LOOKS like its just sitting in my outbox.

**EDIT MY BAD, DUH.. ok i sent the PM to you it was sitting as a draft i guess*** Please let me know what you think.
