Can someone else view my content??

Hi. Just downloaded ums. General screen shows devices to connect to. One is a TV that must be my next door neighbours. Does this mean that they can view my laptop? How can i control this?

Well if you share network, then yes they can see your content.

UMS offers different kinds of security, most of it is based on allowing/denying IP's

If you want to filter devices based on devices (uuid), then i made a small guide on how to do that here.

In my mind it's more safe to do filtering by uuid, because IP's can change, uuid's can not.

If you happen to have a Samsung phone or tablet it can sometimes show up as a Samsung TV in UMS. But unless you are letting your neighbour steal your wifi or vice versa, they can not see your files.
