Same device is shown twice
Hello,
when I start UMS, in flag "Status" my devices were listed, but one device (DMR-BCT750/755) is shown twice (see attachment). However I only have one!
I have deinstalled and installed the UMS twice, the last time in clear mode. The problem still exist.
Do You have any idea to solve that?
Best regards
umserich

Re: Same device is shown twice
Hello urnserich,
That could happen if you forced your renderer.
That said, if you've again this issue, just follow these steps:

Re: Same device is shown twice
Hello Samy32,
I've done all steps You mentioned. Now I see diffenrent symbols but still having two equal devices (see attachment).
Further I made screenshots from device-preferences (see aatchment). They are different. Do You have an idea why?
Also I created a new log-file. May be that helps to find out and solve my problem..

Re: Same device is shown twice
Hello urnserich,
don't worry, it's will stream fine
- In the "General configuration" tab, click on "Select renderers" and unselect "Panasonic" except your renderer. or at least the "TV" one.
That you don't have TV icon displayed with this renderer is normal, as it cannot found the fictive one i set, so it display the default one.
That you get your renderer displayed as 2 can be understood, as your renderer send 2 different informations about himself, as you already saw, so that make difficult to do general renderer configuration file without having this issue with your kind of renderer.
- Replace the renderer i give you by that one: That's said it's just an esthetical issue, as it'll stream fine on any one you'll choose.

Re: Same device is shown twice
Hello Samy32,
now I'm a liitle bit confused.
The reason why I startet that topic in UMS-forum was: Why do I have same device twice. Up to that point everything works fine, only showing this two devices disturb.
Now, after changing several things always everything works fine but also always having two devices shown. And I ask myself why do we change?
And so far as I understand, it isn't possible to show only one device. Is that right?
So I only assume, changing the renderer gives a litle bit more security and performance for my device, but still having showed two device till one.
Please can You confirm my surmise.

Re: Same device is shown twice
Hello urnserich,
no, only few people have this issue, AFAIK. I use a Panasonic Viera without any displaying issue, as most of us.
Please, could you post a new log while you use the latest renderer given here ?

Re: Same device is shown twice
You didn't disabled all the renderers, except your, as asked/explained.
So i guess that having 3 renderers icons displayed instead of only one don't bother you too much after all...
You can try that one:
