Re: No media servers were found
I don't know if I understand you correctly. And it would help if you describe your network setup. Right now I see that you are using a forced IP address for UMS, which you have set to 192.168.1.8 in UMS. UIMS will try to listen using that IP on port 5001. Is there a reason to use the forced IP? Norm...

Re: No media servers were found
Important part of your log file is missing.
UMS seems to start normally listening on port 5001 on your server with IP 192.168.1.8.
Then it seems to detect another device on IP 192.168.1.20.
And then no more log file....
So did you stop the UMS or did it crash?

Re: Documentation?
Thanks. Sounds like this tools is for people who enjoy playing in the technology, as opposed to people who just want to set up a media server and enjoy it. Yes? Or does someone believe otherwise? If you are not into tinkering and tweaking with all the options that UMS has to offer, you can just sta...

Awesome work guys. There is a lot of effort in putting this all together. If I had a hat, I would take if off for you now.

Re: Embedded vs. External Subs
As far as I know subtitles only work using transcoding. And forward and backward navigation in a movie is not the strongest point of UMS. I don't use it. Instead I use the Chapter option and set it on 5 minute interval. That way I can still start somewhere in the movie. There is also the option that...

Re: Pioneer BDP 140 problem
Hi, it means that both devices use the same User-Agent string to register itself to UMS. In the standard UMS release there is no renderer file defined for your Pioneer BDP. So you have to make it yourself and put that in the UMS renrers directory. You can read how to do so in the Renderers section. ...

Re: Embedded vs. External Subs
If your movie is named mymovie.mkv, your subtitle file should be named mymovie.srt and it should be placed in the same directory.
On your tv you should navigate to the #TRANSCODE folder, from there you can start the movie with any of the subtitles embedded or not.
Have fun.

Re: Port for DLNA
I checked my own firewall setup on Windows 7 64 bit regarding UMS and I have following incoming 'allow' rules in place that you might want to check in your setup: - javaw.exe (TCP) - ums.exe (Any) - wrapper.exe (Any); you only need this one when running UMS as a service - port 5001 rule (Any); the d...
