The solution that worked for me was to uninstall Java from the Windows Programs menu in Control Panel and not re-install it. This is because I use a dedicated computer only to run Universal Media Server.

I tried UMS Version 9.0.1 This version also has the same problem.

I am sure it is not a firewall issue as my Windows Firewall is turned off and I am not running any other firewall programs. I doubt that Windows Defender is the culprit either (that is the only ant-virus program on this computer).

I never tried any version after version 7.6.2. I continued to use version 7.5.0. since this was the last version which played TED Talks. However, I did try version 9.0.0 and was thrilled to see that the TED Talks works fine under this version.
