I can stream from pcs own HDD and even when pc goes to sleep the films still play but from the external usb the file stops playing after a short amount of minutes - last one was about 13 ...

You can try manually going into the #-TRANSCODE-# folder and playing the [No Encoding] file, that will let us know whether the TV supports that.
