Re: Philips HTS5593
Perhaps I should have said "they DIDN'T play by default" instead of "wouldn't", as my player did not play .m4v files until I added it to the streamextensions list.

Re: Philips HTS5593
So I never found a way of playing VFR video on the HTS5593, but found a better solution; returning it and getting a Samsung model instead.
This solution was far quicker and easier than attempting to get UMS working with the Philips player, though I noticed the default allshare renderer config doesn ...

Re: Philips HTS5593
Okay,
So I've installed version 3.4.0 of UMS, and reencoded a whole bunch of test clips with various settings using HandBrake and discovered that my player can play MPEG4 video, but not H.264 if it has a 'variable framerate', which seems to be the default, and what I encoded all my stuff with.

Re: Hardware Requirments
Seriously?
Back when it was totally free, I ran tversity perfectly fine transcoding to FullHD while playing borderlands on an old AMD 64x2 with 3GB RAM.
How can UMS need an i5 with 8GB?

Re: Philips HTS5593
I've done a clean install (also added Leroy's renderer config again) in case I'd screwed something up as some things were playing, and then for some unknown reason stopped working.
I ran through the options under #transcode# as suggested, and none of them played. Some (AC3) gave an error ...

Re: Philips HTS5593
Thanks Valib,
After making that change it didn't appear to have made any difference. I then restarted the server, tested, deleted 'resume' files and restarted and my test file works.
I've now turned off video resume in the settings.
Unfortunately it's not 100% yet. I just tried playing one file ...

Re: Philips HTS5593
Thanks Leroy, unfortunately I'd already come across that thread and have been using that file as a base.
With it, some stuff plays but not everything that should.
attached is the trace level debug zip

Philips HTS5593
Hi,
I'm having trouble with UMS streaming to my Philips HTS5593.
I've tried setting up a renderer config but the results I get appear to be inconsistent.
I'd tried downloading a Philips net tv config from here and changed the renderer search terms to match, but constantly get "unsupported video ...
