I've had 7 and 8 installed for a long while since 8 surfaced for end-users.

I uninstalled 8 to see how 7 fairs after having used 8 for some time.
Tbh, I've not really noticed much difference between the two.
I'll wait a few more extensive updates for 8 before ...

It (should be) well known that support (from Oracle, developers of Java) have officially stopped for version 6.

I have an Xbox360 and a Sony BDP-s3100. But lately my brother tells me he hasn't been able to watch anything from UMS but I'm not around to check what he's doing.

I was able to obtain the following from the VideoHelp mirror.
Sourceforge only had 3 previous versions.
Though I hadn't looked that section for UMS Builder.

Re-read the whole post again.
I did define specific folders and save.
I also did without saving.

Windows 7 (x64)
UMS 2.5.0

So I did a clean install of UMS 2.5.0 and added a folder to the shares.
I hit the scan button and was warned it may take a long time.
I agreed and it began scanning the whole computer!

One of my friends (with no internet; router only) has a PS3 though.

I'm just starting to get into the whole media server thing as an alternative to the time-consuming USB sticks.
