I do also suffer some random stuttering with both an HP Laptop I7-3610 2,3 Ghz (4 cores + HT), 6 Gb RAM and gigabit ethernet,
and a no brand laptop Core 2 Quad (4 cores without HT) 2,0 Ghz with 4 Gb RAM and gigabit ethernet.

I have tested today with a freshly generated UMS (with UMS builder), but I still
receive "incompatible media" on PS3 when trying to play the file (see attached debug).

I did notice the following:

A) If you choose "Audio High fidelity" as transcoding engine, it does not seem to obey ...

Recompiling (thanks to UMS-builder). Now it's too late at night for testing, I will check tomorrow and report back.

I have found that I'm unable to play 5.1 - 48 Khz FLAC with UMS (PMS doesn't play them either) in all versions that I have checked.
In fact, I do not think that this issue is caused by UMS, most probably is the lack of audio formats supported by PS3 itself.
