Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20E and mkv

Post by graziano »

Hello

I have a Panasonic Viera TX-P42G20E (1920x1080 pixel) and I would see some mkv movie from my PC .
I was able to do it using WMS media servers , however I prefer to use UMS which is free.
The problems is that using UMS I receive a "not readable" error. am trying to understand why mkv are not readable .

Any help please ?

Thank you
Graziano

I added

container == avc && vcodec == h264 :: -mc 0.1

and it works

Now the problem is , how to show subtitles (these are not shown)

today , UMS can't open the file I was able to open yesterday and no way to show subtitle.

anyone please can tell me why some mkv file works fine in TX-P42G20E
while other mkv files can't open in TX-P42G20E ?

and please how to show subtitles and how to see (currently it does not show subtitles) and select a subtitle language while seeing the movie for mkv files which have multiple languages ?

thank you

Most likely no other users have the same renderer TV and issues with mkv as you have. It will also help if you post your logs as in viewtopic.php?f=9&t=556

after about 10 days trying to understand DLNA and UMS   , finally I understand how to create profiles (using ps3.conf) , it's very important
to setup correctly UserAgentSearch for your media.

All is working excellent now :D , thank you UMS , I think UMS is much much better than various paid products !

I would share my working conf file for Yamaha RX-V500D and Panasonic

Glad to hear you were able to configure your TV to run nicely with UMS. Once your profile is tuned make sure any of the admins receive it and they can add it to the general release of UMS for other users to enjoy. Wolf

Hi graziano!

I have exactly the same issue with .mkv and P42G20E,
while our P42G50 plays these files instantly w/o any problems.

PLEASE can u help me with that?
(The G20E is with the latest available firware)

MANY THANX ! :)
