Re: Problem with Samsung SmartTV and Transcoding
In fact I tried with lots of files, and not only MKVs.Durandle wrote:Note that MKV is just a file container and has nothing to do with the actual video/audio format. Sumsung supports MKV just fine, but doesn't support some of the older divx/mp4 encoding formats. Same goes for some mp3 encodes, it seems to struggle with them. Equally, some modern encoding formats are not support if used with less common settings. VBR often trips up embedded players.

Anyway the problem persist with version 3.6.3.
Should we submit a GitHub ticket?
Re: Problem with Samsung SmartTV and Transcoding
Try enabling chunked transfer in SamsungAllshare.conf:
Reference: issue #247.
Code: Select all
ChunkedTransfer=true

Re: Problem with Samsung SmartTV and Transcoding
I tried with a random anime and it worked! Will let you know if it works well with other files later. Thanks!infidel wrote:Try enabling chunked transfer in SamsungAllshare.conf:Reference: issue #247.Code: Select all

Re: Problem with Samsung SmartTV and Transcoding
While it may work, what is the downside? I assume there is one since this option is default off.
EDIT:
Oh wait, its not a "downside" type toggle, its a "TV Needs Feature or Not". Do you want TV UID so you can make a profile to include next release?
I suppose this brings up a potential feature suggestion. If an internet connection is available, how about checking for new/updated profiles on the fly and downloading the specific profile for the current device? That way you don't need to make a new release just to add/update profiles. You could fix this issue for every person with my TV and they wouldn't need to do anything.

Finally I can say that there's no problem at all! If you need some additional informations to make a specific profile just ask!

Re: Problem with Samsung SmartTV and Transcoding
There should be a new SamsungAllshare.conf in the new release that will split the Samsungs into different configuration files. This will fix the ChunkedTransfer setting on the models that need it.
