Thanks a lot for the new release.

This has probably been answered before, but I couldn't find it. It looks like you are continuing to build version 3 along with version 4; what is the difference?
Re: Version 4.0.0-b1 is released
This is a beta version, previous one was alpha. It runs along 3.6.x which is the stable branch, until 4.x becomes stable.Kreeker wrote:This has probably been answered before, but I couldn't find it. It looks like you are continuing to build version 3 along with version 4; what is the difference?

Thanks for the new test release!
If you have ps_ping set and you do not check "Use Automatic Bandwidth", does UMS no longer ping the device for an estimated speed?

Correct. Device pinging is now off but there are two ways to enable it.Madoka wrote:Thanks for the new test release!

1) Set Use Automatic Bandwidth, this has the side effect that you use adaptive bitrates.
2) Set "speed_debug=true" in your UMS.conf. This will only do the ping and if you have ps_ping set it will use ps_ping.

Re: Version 4.0.0-b1 is released
I am wondering why Chromecast.conf in this version still does not contain the changes as documented in:
https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer ... r/pull/300
e.g. missing entry: MimeTypesChanges = video/mpeg=video/mp4
I need to update Chromecast.conf manually; otherwise Bubbleupnp does not work and I don't want to use Bubbleupnp server transcoding.
Anymore update on the mediainfo issue? Thanks
