Upgrading to OSX Yosemity
Just for the ones who are curious ,but scared off trying.
I upgraded my 2011 Imac I5 to Yosemity and still can use UMS , the way I used too.

Im having major issues since I updated to Yosemite. UMS starts up and upon start up an FFMPEG process begins to use ram, to the point it uses all the computers ram, and the computer crashes.

I upgraded to Yosemite, running latest ver. of UMS and Java 1.8. Ever since, I get slight freezes throughout video playback. Not seeing anything unusual in the logs though. I'll keep looking.
