Accent issues in folder/file titles

Post by coffeym »

I'm having an infuriating issue in which any folders or files containing foreign accents (e.g. é, å,...) do not show up in the renderer (PS3 in my case). I am using OS X Yosemite. The annoying thing is that this is *not* the case when using a Java 6 version of UMS (but such a workaround is not acceptable as the Java 6 versions appear to have their own issues in Yosemite, such as stuttering, etc.). The issue presents itself in all Java 7 and 8 versions of UMS (I have tried several). Any ideas why this is? Perhaps it is a Java issue that is out of your hands?

Update: the files/folders do appear when the renderer is a Samsung TV - but clicking on the files gives an error of 'media not supported'. This is clearly an issue with the accents being present, as removing them allows the files to play as normal. I'm at a loss...

I saw some updated patches in trunk so it should be fixed in coming version.
