External subs size.

Post by Bachusan »

Hi

I have just strated using UMS and I must say I`m impressed.
The only thing which I stops me from loving it is subtitles size from external txt files.

I`m using UMS as DLNA server for my Samsung Led TV (Samsung WiseLink is detected).
No metter how I change the size of subtitles in Transcoding/Subtitles it doesn`t take any effect :/

Any suggestions ?

BR.

Now I don't know if you need to transcode subtitles to your TV as I use a PS3.

But for me, you can't change the subtitle size in .srt subs with FFmpeg currently. So, check the "Defer to MEncoder for subtitles" box in the FFMepg settings and try that, as MEncoder does use those subtitle settings. However, MEncoder has a rare bug where lines that are supposed to be on screen for a long sometimes prematurely disappear. This is only with .srt.

Bachusan it seems to me that you have not checked "Fontconfig" at the FFmpeg setting page. Without that you cannot change font size, font type or font color.

Checking "Fontconfig" only allows you to change the color of .srt subs, but not the size for me. Also, FFmpeg will then generate a temporary sub file (for both .ass and .srt) in the UMS data directory which it doesn't need to do without Fontconfig. From what I can tell the temp .ass file is exactly the same as the original in the video folder.
