Audio levels being normalised on streaming
Hi,
I've been using PS3 media server until I discovered this branch which is far more active, and had the same issue on that.
I stream from a Windows 8.1 PC to a Panasonic Viera plasma TV (basic first or second gen smart TV). I stopped using Windows native DLNA because Windows 8 seemed to stop supporting streaming MKV.
The bandwidth is sufficient for 720p and 1080p streaming with no quality issues, but in certain files (it seems to be mp4s) the audio stream seems to get manipulated so that loud noises (explosions) get suppressed. I can't find an option that changes this, and it means that the "cinematic" experience is lost. It happens on the default setup.
Can anybody suggest what the issue may be?
