Wifi/Chromecast Stutter?
Hello,
I am very new to using UMS and I have recently bought a Chromecast for the TV in my living room.
My setup is a follows:
I have a wireless router in the living room and PC in my bedroom, the wifi signal does not reach the bed room at full strength so I have a wifi repeater/booster in the hall of the flat which allows me to connect to the wifi router at full strength.
The TV with the chromecast installed is in the living room (same room as the router), I have installed UMS on my PC (Windows 7) and then installed the BubbleUPNP software on top and I have the BubbleUpnp app (paid version) on my android phone (HTC One).
I have it setup I can select the UMS server from the list on the Bubbleupnp app, select a file from the shared folders, and the file is streamed to the TV via the Chromecast.
The problem is the video constantly buffers and pauses, i'm guessing this is as the chromecast is connecting to the PC directly via the weaker WIFI signal rather where as the PC connects to the router via the wifi repeater/booster.
I have tried to reduce the max stream bit rate in the bubbleupnp app settings which I thought had fixed the problem but seems to have returned even with the lower bit rates.
Is there a way to get the chromecast to connect to UMS via the wifi repeater? or is there a way for me to plug the PC into the router via a wired connection and then the UMS to show up as a wifi connection on the router? Or any other solution anyone can think of?
Thanks.
