Is anyone having browsing speed issues?

By that i mean the list/directory of files on my Bravia TV seem to take longer to display than it did in Version 4.31. Its almost like the rendering the directory tree faster improvement that came along for Bravias around version (i think it was) version 3.1 has been removed.

After updating UMS from 4.40 to 5.00, BubbleUPnP Server has been unable to connect to UMS because it now ignores self-originating requests.

U5 is really great. However, just looked at the log files and note VLC is not found ..

Great job guys, the new version is amazing but I have a problem.. After updating UMS from 4.40 to 5.00, Xbox 360 has been unable to connect to UMS... In universal media server appears the console (with the right ip) but on the xbox 360... nothing! how this is possible?

No idea how it's possible, but can you try 5.0.0-b1 and 5.0.0-a1 to see when the bug first appeared?

Even with the final release of 5.0.0, I still cannot play the next video in the directory. I get video cannot be played. This is the same error I got when testing 5 beta, 5 alpha works fine. I left a message with a zip with dump files in it, but nobody responded. Here is the link to that message viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2577&start=20#p13716 . Can somebody please help me out.

It will be easier to give you support for this issue if you make a support thread for it - the announcement threads aren't for support If you can do that I will make some builds for you to test so we can fix this.

I finished watching an episode of series and I was surfing web with phone at couch when I suddenly realized that my PC was louder than it should've been on idle. So I checked Task Manager and javaw.exe was using 25% of CPU (so it was CPU fan making all the noise). This is new in 5.0.0, never happened with earlier versions before, atleast for me. Unfortunately I rebooted UMS and I didn't remember to take logs to safety. I tried to reproduce this by playing same file for awhile but it didn't work. I make sure to add it next time when/if this happens again.

I have Java 8 Update 31 (32bit & 64bit) installed and I use BubbleUPnP on Nexus 4 (Lollipop 5.0.1) to browse files and to select what I want to watch via Chromecast. OS: Windows 7 64bit

EDIT: I think cause may be thumbnails, because I enabled them after updating to 5.0.0. I'd like to get confirmation for this one if the case is that. Tho dunno why it would take 15min+ to generate all thumbnails, I don't have that many files.

It should be nearly instant except on the first run, if it isn't please make sure the cache is enabled on the Navigation/Share Settings tab

Some files are missing one Xbox One. And on Xbox 360 the listing is not correct. I see All photos to access my videos files

Can you please make a support thread for this issue so we can do some tests?

I am new to this, been playing for about a week with V4.4.0. Works surprisingly well with a few minor issues which I will post later if and only off they persist in V5.0.0. I am a Mac user and have viewed its forum.

I upgraded to V5 yesterday without any problems. It worked as well as V4 (or better?) with a much needed status improvement. I was root causing a memory leak issue which seemed to disappear with V5. Today I went to further isolate and verify UMS operating properly with no leaks when I ran into an unexpected error: the video files (.mkv) are no longer recognized. Going back to V4 works.

I am unix savvy but not Java. Any pointers or suggestions are welcome, especially if there is a better place to post this.

Nope can definitely confirm it is an issue, have tried 5.00 with and without caching of files, tried resetting the cache, tried disabling thumnails and altering method for thumbnails, even complete fresh install. Browsing is very slow on my Bravia EX, roughly the speed it was before the speed improvements were made.

To doubly make sure i tried version 4.40 yesterday which until that point i also had never installed and like version 4.31 that version works fine.

The issue is worse for folders.....

Example...... You share a folder called say my files, inside that folder you have additional folders entitled Movies and TV, inside the TV folder you then have other folders entitled by the name of your show and then finally all the episodes of your shows in the appropriate folders. On version 5.00 it will take an age before it will let you browse to the next folder. Version 4.31 and 4.40 it is almost instant.

The more folders you have the longer they take to display and allow you to browse, its the same if you have a folder or even base directory with lots (more than around 50) files in, they take ages to all be displayed.

Its basically like the browsing improvements made around version 3.x for Sony devices is gone or not optimised to what it is in 4.40 and earlier. Happy using 4.40 though hope this issue is fixed in the next V5 release.

Nope you are right, Vizio TVs and Sonys from certain years share alot in common so im not shocked your browsing speed is sucky with 5.00 also. Something has defo gone loopy with 5.00

What issues did you have with version 4.40? I upgraded from 4.31 to 4.40 and from my limited testing it seems ok. Though if there is a big issue with 4.40 also ill likely also go back to 4.31.

EDIT: Never mind read your earlier posts sounds like you were unlucky with 4.40.

Thanks for testing and reporting this. Can you please try 5.0.0-a1 and 5.0.0-b1 to see if it's the same for those versions too? Also if you can make a support thread it will be easier to help, since it could get confusing in this one thread.

That's great news that 5.0.0 is working great juskaho. If you can make me some logs for the Vizio TV I can make a renderer config for it that should fix it

Loving the new v5, great work all you devs! For the XboxOne, thumbnails appear much better when the following is commented out in Microsoft-XboxOne.conf:
