TV can't see UMS since last update

Hello!

So UMS always worked fine but since the last JAVA update my TV can't see UMS even thougt the TV is seen on the computer in the UMS. I've also downloaded the latest version of UMS (5.0.1) and the problem remains.

TV is Samsung Smart TV UE6500SS.

I have the same problem (Samsung TV). The TV is visible in UMS but TV can't see the server (and neither can my Win8 tablet). Other UPNP servers running on the same PC work.

I think I have ran in to the same problem as well. Although not with an actual TV, but with all various media receivers. Just updated to 1.8 in Java, but UMS pulls by default download version of 1.7 and not 1.8. However, regardless of which version I get, I do not see UMS on anything. I've ran RevoUninstaller to remove every type of install related files to Java and UMS. But, still, I get no love. I'm starting to think it has to be an issue with Java.

I kept getting a port conflict saying I had to change the port on the cofig tab. This became a impossible loop with no "save" button all I cold do was restart the server (because just typing in the field did nothing) and on restart I get the same error... change the port number then restart I get the same error.

I rolled back to 4.4 had the same or similar issue. (with Java 8 still installed)

To fix it I unistalled everything UMS and java 8... reinstalling UMS 5.0.1, java 7 update 75 64bit seemed it seemed to fix 5.0.1.

But if I look at my "Programs and features" in Win 7 it shows I have both java 7 and 8 installed.

In the UMS.conf you have a line begining by "uuid = ..." you can delete it and reload UMS. And switch on the TV before loading UMS.

Hi to you all, i'm MaX and i'd like to thank the developer for this great software: really the best!
I'm writing beacause i had the same problem described in this thread by Moose....my TV is a Samsung UE40F6400 and my Java version was the newest (8.XX).
I solved the problem as suggested by ant0ny...first i unistalled UMS and Java build 8...so i installed Java7update75 64bit version and soon after UMS 5.1.1..everything is working perfect now!
I don't know how to fix this problem with a newer Java release but it could be useful for our PC security: older Java releases are not the safest..
