synology app
synology app
any chance of porting UMS to synology.
having a native UMS service running on synology would make things a lot easier, synology media app still isnt fully compatible with all formats.
thanks for the great work guys !!!!

Re: synology app
+1.
I am in general in favor of open source alternatives. I was so excited when I heard about Universalmediaserver.
However, a lack of NAS support (Synology DS412+ in my case) is a dealbreaker, I don't want to have a PC open to stream my videos. DS412+ has an Intel chipset and has enough power to transcode videos (no problem with Plex).
I will stick to Plex on my Synology for the moment. Please notify me when you provide a Synology package (.spk) of your server.

Re: synology app
A quick search shows that the Sinology NAS is able to run Java (but seems to have trouble with non headless apps): http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic ... 90&t=79335
Did you try to follow those instructions to load java and then try running ums.jar?
